Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is an Indian international cricketer who currently captains the India national team. He is a right-handed batsman, often regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world. He was born on 5th November 1988 in Delhi, India. He is the current vice-captain of the Indian team in Test cricket and the captain of the Indian team in limited-overs formats.

Kohli made his international debut in August 2008 against Sri Lanka in an ODI match. He is the fastest batsman to reach 10,000 runs in ODI cricket and the fastest to reach 39 centuries in ODI cricket as well. He has scored the most runs in a single edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup and is the only batsman to score more than 10,000 ODI runs in a calendar year.

Kohli has received many awards and accolades in his cricketing career, including the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, ICC ODI Player of the Year (2012 and 2017), ICC Test Player of the Year (2018), ICC Player of the Decade (2020) and Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World (2016 and 2017). He is the only player to be ranked number one for more than two years in the ICC Player Rankings.

Kohli is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time and is one of the most followed athletes on social media. He is an inspiration to many aspiring cricketers and is a role model for many youngsters.
