My son is in first grade. At home he is very happy, silly, wild child. In social situations, he’s very shy. At school, he has a select few friends he will talk to, but otherwise he pretty much ignores everyone. He barely talks to his teachers. When we’re in public, he will not speak to strangers or people he’s not super familiar with at all. I work at his school and today during PE all the other kids were dancing and running around and he was just standing off to the side. He’s a straight-A, well-behaved kid. I was sort of like this as a child, very shy and anxious in social situations but I don’t know what to do to help him. Ideas?
