Changing a Tire on Your Car
Step 1: Gather the Materials
- Car jack
- Lug wrench
- Spare tire
Step 2: Lift the Vehicle
Position the jack under the frame of the car close to the tire you want to change. Raise the jack until it is just below the frame of the car. Make sure the car is secure before proceeding.
Step 3: Remove the Lug Nuts
Using the lug wrench, loosen the lug nuts that hold the wheel in place. Do not remove them yet.
Step 4: Remove the Flat Tire
Once the lug nuts are loose, lift the flat tire off with your hands. Make sure to place it out of the way.
Step 5: Install the Spare Tire
Put the spare tire in the same position as the flat tire. Make sure the wheel is secure before proceeding.
Step 6: Secure the Tire
Using the lug wrench, tighten the lug nuts to secure the wheel in place. Make sure the wheel is tight before proceeding.
Step 7: Lower the Vehicle
Once the wheel is secure, lower the car jack and remove it from under the car. Make sure the car is secure before driving.
Step 8: Check the Tire Pressure
Once the car is on the ground, check the tire pressure of the spare tire. Make sure the tire is properly inflated before driving.
