How to Make a Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups of all-purpose flour
• 2 cups of granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon of salt
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup of buttermilk
• 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
• 1 cup of boiling water

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
2. Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs, buttermilk, oil and vanilla.
4. Combine wet ingredients into dry ingredients and beat until well blended.
5. Stir in boiling water until blended. Batter will be thin.
6. Pour batter into prepared pan.
7. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack. Allow cake to cool completely.
